PAM GROUT “E-Squared: Nine Do-It-Yourself Energy Experiments That Prove our Thoughts Create Your Reality.

Here is a sneak peak of a book i recently started reading, called E-squared: Nine do-it-yourself energy experiments that prove your thoughts create your reality by Pam Grout. I literally copied and pasted this part that really resonated with me.

1. The Dude Abides Principle. This is the basic principle, the foundation upon which all the others rest. Basically what it says is, “There is an invisible ” “energy force or field of infinite possibilities.” The experiment could best be described as an ultimatum. You’re going to give the force exactly 48 hours to make its presence known. You’re going to demand a clear, unmistakable sign, something that cannot be written off as coincidence.

2. The Volkswagen Jetta Principle. Remember that new car you bought a few years ago? When you first decided it was the car of your dreams, it seemed like a unique car. You figured you’d be the only one in town to proudly drive one. Well, by the time you read up on it in Consumer Reports, decided on the price you needed to offer, and finally got yourself to the car dealership, you noticed that practically every eighth car was a Volkswagen Jetta or whatever car it was you wanted. And that’s what happens when you begin to think about something—you draw it into your life.
Every thought we have, every judgment we make, impacts the field of potentiality. In fact, reality is nothing but waves of possibility that we have “observed” into form. This principle states, “You impact the field and draw from it according to your beliefs and expectations,” and to prove it we'll set the following clear intention: "This is what i want to pull out of the field in the next 48 hours."

3. The Alby Einstein Principle. Even though this principle, “You, too, are a field of energy,” is one of the cornerstone spiritual principles, it actually first came to light in a physics lab. Yes, it was scientists who discovered that, despite all appearances to the contrary, human beings are not matter, but continually moving waves of energy. In fact, you probably noticed the title of this book is a play on Einstein’s famous equation.
This is the only experiment that involves equipment—specially designed, perfectly tuned equipment. Okay, so it’s a metal coat hanger (a specimen of which I’m assuming, unless you’re a complete and total slob, is available in your closet) and a drinking straw, something you can easily score free of charge at any McDonald’s.

4. The Abracadabra Principle. Most people associate the word abracadabra with magicians pulling rabbits out of hats. It’s actually an Aramaic term that translates into English as, “I will create as I speak.” It’s a powerful concept. It’s why Edison often announced the invention of a device before he’d actually invented it. It’s why Jim Carrey wrote himself a check for $10 million long before he ever made a movie.”

“This principle simply says, “Whatever you focus on expands,” and in the experiment you’ll learn that there’s no such thing as an idle thought and that all of us are way too cavalier and tolerant of our minds’ wandering".

5. The Dear Abby Principle. This principle states: “Your connection to the field provides accurate and unlimited guidance.” By realigning your consciousness, you can access reliable answers to every request you ever make. The reason you don’t know this is because you’ve taught yourself the most unnatural habit of feeling separate, of not being in communion with the FP.

6. The Superhero Principle. In this experiment, governed by the principle “Your thoughts and consciousness impact matter,” you will duplicate an experiment conducted by Dr. Gary Schwartz, a professor at the University of Arizona, which demonstrated that sending intention to plants made them grow faster and reflect more light than their non intentioned counterparts.

7. The Jenny Craig Principle. Whether you’re a label reader or not, you know the food you eat offers certain vitamins, minerals, and of course, calories. You probably think these nutrients are cut-”
“and-dried, that if the back of the yogurt container says it has 187 calories, then it has 187 calories. What you may not know is that your thoughts about yourself and your food are in a constant dance with your body. And that when you feel guilty about consuming calories, your food picks up a negative vibe that ricochets right back at you. In this experiment, you’ll prove the principle “Your thoughts and consciousness provide the scaffolding for your physical body” by infusing your food with love.

8. The 101 Dalmatians Principle. This all-important spiritual principle states: “You are connected to everything and everyone else in the universe.” Scientists call it nonlocality, and if you watched the cartoon version of 101 Dalmatians, you saw the principle in action. Remember when Cruella De Vil’s evil cohorts were trying to capture the escaped puppies? The old Scottish terrier in the barn where they were hiding barked for help to a basset hound in the next county, who, in turn, barked the message to a dachshund farther along the route. Only in quantum physics, the communication happens instantaneously. The very instant the Scottish terrier knows that the puppies require help, the dachshund, 20 miles away, also knows. “Anything that happens to one particle is instantaneously communicated to the other. In this experiment, you’ll send messages to people in other places without the use of e-mail, letters, or loud explosions.

9. The Fish and Loaves Principle. This principle states: “The universe is limitless, abundant, and strangely accommodating.” It will also prove that your fears are pointless and that maybe it’s okay to take a big, deep breath.”

If you enjoyed this principles...give this book a read, you can listen to it on audible as well.

New Trend ft Tuban Esp1

So I started this trend on my instagram page creating looks inspired by my tubans. This was the first look I created with this green tuban. I have to say i'm very impressed with the way it turned out. The smokey eyes was created using my sigma warm neutral palette mixed with my sephora collection eye shadow palette. So far I would say it has brought a lot of attention to my page, so you would be seeing a lot more of these styles. Comments on what you think would be appreciated.

My Favourite Red Liquid Lipsticks

As we all know Red is a statement colour, that gives most people the "wow" look. I think i lost track of how gorgeous red looks on me until recently. I have fallen back in love with my old lovers (cliche)

Stila Liquid lipstick in Beso
If you haven't tried out the stila liquid lipsticks, you're definitely missing out. If you're looking for a highly pigmented lipstick with long lasting coverage then this is going to be your best friend. It is a creamy full coverage lip color that can stay up to 6 hours, it feels light weight on the lips and it is non-transferrable once dry. Most people don't know this but it contains vitamin E and avocado oil for hydration and conditioning. Most times when you apply liquid lipsticks, they dry and leave the lips all cracked up and dehydrated, those ingredients help to prevent it.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in American Doll
The ABH liquid lipsticks are also very pigmented. It can last for up to 6 hours or more and dries completely matte. They have a variety of shades to pick from even in the red categories. Would look stunning on different tones. A lot of makeup lovers are already familiar with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Cosmetics. I have to say their liquid lipstick is one of my favourite products from their brand. If you haven't tried any products from this line, I recommend you do. You would thank me later.

Too Faced Melted Liquid Lipstick in Velvet
This is a completely different texture from the other two, it has a tip applicator. which you can apply directly to the lips. It is also very pigment with a glossy shine to it. The formula is creamy, rich and hydrating. The staying power can last up to 4hrs or more. This was actually my first lip color from too faced brand.

Thanks for reading, till next blog

Three things you never knew could clean your makeup Brushes.

Apart from the traditional makeup brush cleanser and shampoo that you can purchase from any makeup store. Here are three products that you could substitute for a makeup brush cleanser or shampoo.

1. Using a Dish Soap: whattttttt??? yes i said it. Liquid dish soap like dawn is amazing for washing your makeup brushes. It helps in breaking down the makeup that can be hard to get off. It is also really good for those greasy stains or products that can be stubborn to get off your brushes. Another advantage to using the dish soap is that glitters are easy to wash off.  Remember to spray with alcohol after wash.

2. Baby Shampoo: I didn't believe this until I tried it. It is important to deep wash your brushes once a week, if it is just for your own use. While for makeup artist like myself, I deep wash after every use. A lil trick that I learnt is to add a few drops of tea tree oil to the shampoo, this would provide antiseptic benefits to your makeup brushes. (i.e prevent bacteria) another benefit is that your brushes would smell really good after wash.

3. Bar Soap / Organic Bar Soap: This is the easiest to use and find, just wet your brush and rub gently against the bar soap and all the makeup products would gently rub off. Rinse once the brush is clean and leave to air dry. This method is price efficient and is a great substitute for your solid brush cleansers like the beauty blender solid soap.
I hope these tips were really helpful, don't forget to check out my blog every week for more post. Let me know in the comment section if this post was helpful and what you would like to see on my blog.

How to get a job at sephora (Part 1)

So as an artist looking to jump start your career, you might be thinking how do I start?? or you are a makeup addict/junkie and you just love makeup and want to be around it. Well you stopped at the right blog.
Compare to when I started working at sephora, a lot of things have changed. Rambling about that would be for another blog post. So the main things you need to know, is that all applications are online based. When you are applying for a position, you should always do your research about the company. There are different positions at sephora which include: cashier, skincare consultant, color consultant, operation consultant and fragrance consultant. Each world also has a member of leadership which includes positions like color lead, skincare lead, operation lead and fragrance lead. Each world also has a specialist depending on how big the sephora store you are applying to is, there are positions such as color specialist, skincare specialist and operations specialist. The last position would be the position of a store director. whewww that was a lot to type.
Moving on...so the positons, I am referring to in my blog is for the consultants positions. Every applicant would usually have three interviews, the first interview which is always a group interview. The second interview would be one on one, most times with a lead or a specialist and the last interview would most likely be with a different specialist or a store director to get a preview of your personality before you are hired.
First interview, Just like any other group interview. you have to come prepared. There's always that one person that repeats everything everyone says during their interview don't be that person. Always make eye contact with who ever is doing your interview, most times there's always two leads during the interview. SMILE SMILE SMILE!!! did I say smile yes smile. Sephora is always looking for people that have great positive energy that would keep their clients happy. They have some trick questions during the interview like

  • what frustrates you? This is a chance for you to say bad things about what actually frustrates you, but answer this question in a positive way. don't be deceived.
  • Tell me about your favourite supervisor and least favourite?  like i mentioned earlier be smart and avoid being negative especially talking bad about your past supervisor.
  • How do you deal with difficult customers? be respectful, they love people that value respect.
  • What kind of pace do you like to work in? sephora is all about multi-tasking and a fast-paced  environment but be flexible.
  • When did you accomplish something as a team? They want to see your team player skills so give examples of when you worked on a goal with a team.
  • Have you ever had or experienced conflict with a teammate or supervisor before? this is not the time to say bad things about your previous job or current job or talk about people you didn't like. It is an interview so remember to always answer every question in a positive manner.
My favourite question would have to be the one about, if you owned your own store and a customer drops her fragrance on the floor and brings it back to return it. Would you do the return for the client. According to sephora, your clients should always come first. So the answer to this question is YES!!! It builds loyalty when you go out of your way to please a client and that's what sephora is all about. I didn't know I had so much to tell you guys about my experience in the interview process. This is just a few of the questions I remember from the first interview. The second interview is going to be in a different blog post.
Share in the comment box down below if this post helped you. I would also like to know how your interviews went.
Don't forget to share and like this post.
Thanks

I just joined Shopstyle

Just like any other blogger, i'm constantly looking for ways to increase my influence and make money. I recently joined shopstyle, which is an affiliate program used by many beauty and fashion bloggers. It is pretty much a commission and clicks based program. I have been doing a lot of reading on how it works. I have to say, it can be a bit overwhelming but I'm enjoying my learning stage. So far I'm loving it. This post is a test drive on how to post my widget on beauty products I love. Let me know if you love it.

Newness of the Week ( Urban decay Quick Fix Prep Spray)

If you haven't tried this bad boy, you're definitely missing out.
What is it? it is a hydrating, soothing complexion prep spray. Quick fix is even more hydrating than urban decay's B6 prep spray. It can be used by anybody, men included. great for all skin type and it feels amazing.  Now let's talk about how fine the mist of the spray is, it emits a calibrated microfine mist that goes on so light you can hardly feel it. Oh did i mention it smells really good just like coconut water.
What does this product do? Balances and reinvigorates skin post- cleansing. It reduces the appearance of pores, brightens and smoothes the skin while replacing lost moisture. You can use this before and after your makeup or through out the day to refresh your makeup.
Key Ingredients: Vitamin B3, Sepitonic M3 and coconut water.
I'm in love with this product.
Rating: 9.5/10

Thanks.
